XL IGH / MAF | D-5029-100-OG | 100 µl / 10 Tests |
The XL IGH/MAF is designed as a dual fusion probe. Sets of orange labeled probes flank the breakpoint at 16q23 (MAF), while a set of green labeled probes flank the breakpoint at 14q32 (IGH).

Chromosomal translocations affecting the IGH locus are recurrent in many types of lymphomas. The malignant transformation works via the juxtaposition of oncogenes next to regulatory sequences of the immunoglobulin locus.
The t(14;16)(q32;q23) occurs in 5% of multiple myeloma patients and has a clear association with an adverse outcome, with shorter survival and features of aggressiveness. While C-MAF up-regulation is believed to be a culprit, WWOX is also disrupted by breakpoints at 16q23 which indicates a possible tumor suppressor role for this gene. All MetaSystems Human FISH probe products are classified as IVD products and marked with the CE label.
