MetaCyteLite: Unleash the Power of MetaCyte on any Microscope
A new MetaSystems product allows for automated cell signal analysis in manually captured images

MetaCyte Lite - Analysis of spot signal patterns is the basis for many assays in hematology and cancer genetics. With the already well established Metafer MetaCyte, based on the renowned Metafer slide scanning platform, slides are scanned unattended and signal patterns are analyzed automatically, precisely, and reproducibly. The new MetaCyte Lite combines full MetaCyte software functionality with image acquisition using a manual microscope stage.
MetaCyte Lite is particularly suited to applications where cancerous regions are defined manually within the tissue section. It can be therefore conveniently combined with the innovative TissueFISH functionality for Metafer.
MetaSystems develops and manufactures a broad range of FISH probes. In combination with the high-quality XL DNA probe kits for locus specific hybridizations, MetaCyte Lite becomes an all-encompassing system for professional routine diagnostics.

Metafer MNScore:
Micronuclei Analysis in Radiation Dosimetry
"The results shown in this paper support the value of automated MN scoring for biological biodosimetry, using the Metafer system. The obtained automated MN scores are highly correlated with the manual MN scores (r2=0.917) and a visual check of the BN confirms ths efficacy of the image analysis. Since the system makes few errors, it is not advantageous to visually validate the MN counts obtained by the Metafer system [...]. The optimisation of the fixation and the standard Metafer classifier settings were also confirmed by the quality of the image analysis."
